A Sweet Tradition with a Boozy Twist

A Sweet Tradition with a Boozy Twist

Our story begins all the way back in 1870, when founder Melissa's ancestors brought the art of gelato making from Italy to Scotland. Generations later, Melissa continued the family tradition with a fun new idea: combining classic ice cream flavors with a boozy twist.

In 2012, Melissa began experimenting with liquor-infused ice cream, blending the nostalgia of everyone's favorite frozen treat with the flavors of their favorite cocktails. By 2013, Tipsy Scoop was officially born!

From NYC to Nationwide

From NYC to Nationwide

What started with catering events around New York City quickly grew into something much bigger. In 2015, Tipsy Scoop found its home at Hot Bread Kitchen's incubator space in Harlem, and soon our boozy creations were making their way into grocery stores and homes across the country. After our behind-the-scenes kitchen videos went viral in 2016, we opened our very first Barlour in 2017, with lines wrapping around the block on opening day!

The Fun Keeps Growing

The Fun Keeps Growing

From opening our first Brooklyn Barlour in 2019 to expanding to Long Island in 2021, we've continued finding new ways to bring our liquor-infused creations to more people. Along the way, we've introduced ice cream cocktails, published our first cookbook, and launched franchise opportunities in 2023. Today, Tipsy Scoop is all about bringing people together over delicious ice cream, creative cocktails, and a little extra fun. Because everything is better with a little scoop of happy hour!

Quote
“We wanted to create something that made dessert feel like a celebration, not just the end of a meal.”
The Tipsy Scoop Team

Every flavor we launch goes through rounds of tasting and testing until it nails the balance between booze and sweetness. We believe ice cream should surprise you, and that's what keeps our customers coming back for the next scoop.
